The IceGators may make an improvement to an already solid roster before Friday night's first game in Mississippi. Defenseman Dean Moore may suit up in an IceGator's jersey for for the second straight season. Moore recently was released after spending time in the CHL with the Mississippi River Kings. Moore is a young talented defenseman, which is why he got the chance to play at the CHL level and will more than likely get more looks from higher leagues. He played in 29 games for the Gators last season, scoring 7 points and showing great discipline with only 20 penalty minutes. This singing will help the Gator's young, unproven defense if the transaction does happen. In the SPHL rulebook, it states that a team is "composed of 18 players - 16 skaters and 2 goalkeepers". If Moore does report to the team the roster will have 19 players, including three goalies. Coach MacIsaac will have a tough decision on which two goalies to keep.
Dean Moore has been signed. Defenseman Josh Vanderbreggen and goalie Nevin Hamilton have been released.
